GRANITE MEN'S GATHERING

A Weekend Retreat For Men

The GRANITE MEN'S GATHERING (GMG) is a weekend retreat for men held on the grounds of William Lawrence Camp, a boy's camp, in the off-season months of May and September. This is a beautiful location on a hilltop overlooking Lake Winnipesaukee in the Ossipee foothills of New Hampshire.

The Granite Men's Gathering shares common roots with similar men's retreats held in other New England states. Any man 18 years of age or older may attend, regardless of where you call home. Men are encouraged to invite their friends, brothers, fathers, and sons.

There is great freedom at the gathering to pick and choose from a range of social, recreational, educational and spiritual experiences throughout the weekend. Each man may develop new friendships,

converse with other men about anything and everything, attend or present workshops, perform in a talent show, jam on drums or other musical instruments, eat great food, or simply bask in the sweet serenity of the place. There are abundant opportunities to socialize, but a man can also have quiet solitude to mull things over, do creative work or simply renew his relationship with others or himself.

At the GMG, men can relax, recreate, and share and explore all aspects of what it means to be a man in a safe atmosphere of brotherhood, openheartedness and mutual respect. It's a wonderful opportunity for men to enjoy camaraderie with other men, not only in play but also as they work on the issues, challenges and truths of being a man in the world.

Our Next Gathering: May 18 - 20, 2012

37 Men at our last gathering!!!

The theme for this gathering: "One Day at a Time"

One day at a time--this is enough. Do not look back and grieve over the past for it is gone; and do not be troubled about the future, for it has not yet come. Live in the present, and make it so beautiful it will be worth remembering.” This is the theme of the May gathering. While most often associated with addiction, this is a philosophy that we can work to adapt to our everyday life and the struggles and challenges we face.
